Spiritual Beings

I am grateful and overwhelmed by the summit of creation — the human species. The Bible in the book of Genesis gives us a bigger insight into the story of creation that is so astonishing.

Down through the verses of the first Chapters of the Bible, chapter two to be more specific in verse 7 it reads. “The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life(The breath of life which comes from God pertains the soul and the spirit of man) and man became a living soul”. This implies that man is a soul, has a spirit both which reside in the physical body. The soul addresses the body, the spirit addresses the Lord and the physical body addresses the world.

This gives me the conviction, belief, and understanding that the human race is more than just the physical body that each person is entitled to at conception but rather the spirit and soul that resides in the physical body.

This spirit that comes rightfully from the Lord God addresses the lord. To make this reality much clearer, the book of Romans 8:26 reaffirms this claim.

“ Also the spirit helps us, we are very weak, but the Spirit helps us with our weakness. We do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit himself speaks to God for us. He begs God for us, speaking to him with feelings too deep for words.”-Romans 8:26

The holy spirit himself who is one in the holy trinity and therefore speaks to our spirits and make us sure that we are God’s children.

In the world we live in today, this reality of being spiritual beings having a human experience is something that we have to take upfront in that rather than only perceiving the physical body as what we truly are, let us flip the other side of the coin and change our perceptions on that reality.

The bodies that we have are ideally just like vehicles that we operate around. The diverse societies in the world set labels to these vehicles such as “black, white, Mexican, Asian, Irish” the list goes on and on. With no test drive or choice, we were forced to own these cars for the rest of our lives.

These labels always blind us from seeing a person for who they truly are but instead seeing them through our judgmental, prejudicial and artificial filters of who we think they are.

As quoted by Pierre Teilhard,

“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience, we are spiritual beings having a human experience” the physical body and the labels are thus ruled out.

The spirit that is running through each of us on this planet, it does not matter the labels — what you look like, your gender, race or nationality, is the binding energy to all of us. With the spirit, intelligence and creativity as pertains the gifts of the Holy Spirit are given to us with all the medical, astronomical, and computational science plus all knowledge of the human race we have in the world, it is just wisdom borrowed from God this is what I strongly believe.

With this ideology, we would finally know what wise men and women have been trying to tell us since the dawn of time that we are one. We are more than the physical. This concept can be realized even with a little day to day illustration of when you meet someone that you have never met before. What you see is just the physical and the label that is conjured up in your conscious mind but what you don’t really see is the person’s thoughts, character, behaviour, affiliations, and perceptions which shows that even as the human race, we are more than this mere physical body which biologically is continuously age and prone to disease. Parts of the body can be removed and even internal organs transplanted from human to human but you still remain the same person, no cognitive shift at all, and the reality is that you already know this.

I hope that this blog has brought up the whole idea of our spiritual nature as human beings and I’m glad to share my thoughts on this particular subject hoping that I was a good steward of your time.

Clap for the story if you find it insightful and please share the story.
